The Biobanking and Databasing Facility provides DNA extraction from lymphoblasts, fibroblasts and other cell types, archiving of white cell pellets, preparation and immortalization of cell lines, and comprehensive databasing and tracking of samples and/or cell lines within the facility.

The Biobanking and Databasing Facility provides DNA extraction, archiving of white cell pellets, preparation and immortalization of white cell-derived cell lines, and comprehensive databasing and tracking of samples and/or cell lines within the facility. Additional databases related to genomic information are found here.
This facility provides the following services:
- DNA extraction from blood - $25
- Establishment of cell line (typically from white blood cells) - $100
- DNA banking from blood or established line - contact the facility

For DNA extraction from blood, collection of the blood sample in lavender top (EDTA) tubes is recommended.
For establishment of cell lines, collection of the blood sample in yellow top (ACD) tubes is recommended.
