Congratulations to Kristiina Tammimies on the 2016 L'Oreal-Unesco award for women in science

GGB and TCAG would like to congratulate Kristiina Tammimies, PhD, as the winner of the 2016 L'oreal-Unesco award for women in Science.

This award has been launched in Sweden to support young female scientists at the start of their independent research career. Kristiina was a trainee at Sickkids for two years investigating the genetic basis of Autism Spectrum Disorders and has now returned to the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm to continue her research. In Kristiina's own words, "this prize is the result of the work I did while part of the fantastic science at TCAG and SickkKids and the great collaborations with everyone."

Further details regarding Kristiina's outstanding achievement can be found here(in Swedish):

Congratulations Kristiina!
